Beautiful morning to you all. I am sure you read my previous blog on ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’, well this is the concluding part of my lessons derived from the film:
Five: There is no problem that can’t be surmounted. An idea conceivable in the mind is conceivable in reality. You can create the seemingly impossible, all you need is to believe in the power of the mind. In the film for instance, when James Franco told the Thinkers about his idea of the smoke machine and image projector they said it was impossible but because he could visualize it in his mind, he could achieve it.
Six: Have mentors, there is power in mentorship. Who do you look up too? Ask yourself, who are the top ten in my career line? Where do you place yourself? You want to be the greatest public speaker in the country and yet you don’t even know the likes of Olakunle Soriyan, Fela Durotoye, Sam Adeyemi, Niyi Adesanya to mention few. James Franco in the film had a hero. Thomas Edison was his hero, his mentor. He read his books, he was amazed at his intellectual capacity and scientific innovations. Because of this James Franco was able to create the smoke machine and image projector with which he defeated the two witches named Theodora and Evanora.
Seven: Use what you have! Harness your resources, make everything work for you. Naturally, we humans are more pessimistic than optimistic. When we are in a situation, while others see problems we should learn to see opportunities. James Franco only had an Army of Quadlings, Thinkers and Munchkins. Initially they looked insignificant and useless but when he understood the power of right perception, he was able to bring his limited resources together to form an indestructible force rooted in determination, faith and teamwork and with these arsenals, they were able to defeat the great Emerald City. So guys, always remember that God gave you that dream because he has deposited all around you the resources needed to accomplish and fulfill purpose.
Eight: I personally believe that the God factor must not be forgotten. He is the only one that can open doors that no man can shut and close doors that no man can open. He has great plans for you and with His strength in you, you can do all things (Jeremiah 29:11 and Philippians 4: 13).
I conclude in the words of James Franco, “You have nothing to fear, as long as you believe! For when we believe, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!” So people, even in your time of greatest despair, never ever give up on your dreams! See you at the top and have a ‘dreams-filled’ day!
