WOW! IT'S 54 YEARS ALREADY!!!!

Fifty-four years ago, a child was given the freedom to be independent, to define her own path to success and prosperity. Fifty-four years ago a people with the same focus and richness of mind won the battle against oppression and every evil known to man.. But alas, 54 years down the line, what do we have? What have we become? We have lost sight of the vision, we have lost sight of the love that once bonded us together, we have lost sight of who we are and as a matter of fact, a large part of us are oblivious of our history.

I feel one of our greatest challenge as Nigerians is the fact that WE DONT HAVE A VISION! This draws my attention to the biblical book of  Habakkuk 1 and 2.  Habakkuk was seriously  complaining to God, lamenting about the deplorable state of affairs in the country and how God seems to be blind to the situation of the country. Well, God in His gentlemanly style simply replied him thus "write the vision, and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it". That is the answer to our problems! We need a collective vision and before that can be achieved, we need individual visions. What is your vision, mission, value (s), purpose?
I clearly understand that the Nigeria of today does not have an enabling environment in terms of infrastructures, social amenities, policies and law for us to strive and make it in life as individuals. But we have to start somewhere, somehow. Start by understanding your vision, move on to establish it from where you are because God would not give you a vision without placing the resources for accomplishing the vision around you, this means that you have to look inward and look around, the rod in your hand is enough to part the Red Sea, ask biblical Moses and he would tell you the same thing.

As i type this, someone's name comes to mind; #IGBALAJOBI OLUMUYIWA AYOKUNLE  is a Nigerian currently studying Microbiology and Biotechnology at the great Daejeon University, Korea. He is far away from home yet he has his treasure in Nigeria. He believes so much in this country. Rebranding Nigeria might not be his primary vision and purpose for living but he has made up his mind to be a positive representative of Nigeria in Korea by being morally right, enlightening the Koreans about the Nigeria we would become and speaking positive things about Nigeria.

The war is not over, we have work to do, you can't change all of Nigeria but you can start by planting your little tree while i plant mine, soon we would have a mighty forest. If Kunle focuses on International Diplomacy and I focus on Entrepreneurship while you focus on the agricultural sector or whatever sector you desire in no long time, Nigeria would be a better place. This is just a transitional stage, I see a great Nigeria emerging but it begins with you and I!
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA!#proudlynigerian!THE WINNING GENERATION BLOGSPOT.
