HAVE YOU SAID THANK YOU GOD?

Wow! It's a new month already! I am sure you must have been wondering why it took me so long to wish you a happy new month. Please forgive me, I haven't been feeling too well. So, how is the month going? Today is 10/12/14, I really like the way the numbers progressed. I pray for you today that before the year ends you will attain accelerated progress (amen).  Today I want to talk about something I learnt recently.

I was at a friend's house and suddenly, a thought flashed across my mind. I became envious of her as she showed me some of the things she had bought. In my mind I was like 'na wa ooo. Na person get money like this? See this fine shoe, clothe etc. How come she has money this much and I don't?' I began to look down on myself and I was honestly feeling inferior. As if she was reading my mind, she said ' Esther, hmmmm let us be grateful to God in whatever situation we find ourselves ooo. I met a guy today. He looked so weak and sick. By the time he started his story, I felt bad for him. He said he has been sick for over a year now! His bag was full of drugs and he could barely walk. At a point, he got so emotional and depressed about his situation that he said he wanted to quit the service year. He said that all he wishes for his good health.'

The moment she said this, I felt humbled and chastised. I knew God was actually talking to me through her. And His message was very clear. This is the moral of the story;
  The Holy Scripture says in all things give thanks. I know most times we find it difficult to give thanks especially when things are not that rosy. But do you know that your present situation is another person's prayer point? The only thing some people need is the good health you have taken for granted. They pray and fast everyday just to have the kind of family you have whereas, you don't even see the need to appreciate them just once!

Most times, our situation is not as bad as it seems. When I took out time to check my life, I realised I have so many things to be grateful for. I have a God that absolutely loves and protects me, I have a mother that prunes me and takes off my excesses in love, I have two mighty brothers who make me feel special in every way possible. I have cousins that dot on me. I have great friends who are breaking boundaries per minute, I have a gathering of believers who are establishing and expanding the kingdom of God daily. I have a vision that will never die, I am in good health, I am beautiful and I have never had any reason to beg as a matter of fact I am a giver. When I thought about all the things I have used my money to do I realised that I have not just been prudent with it but I have invested it in eternal and intellectual things that would definitely yield it's reward in due season.

One way to be thankful is this, think about the bad things that has never happened to you. For instance, while reading the abc news, I read the story of a man who was wrongly imprisoned for 40 years for a case of murder. He didn't commit the crime but he had to spend 40 good years behind bars...He could have been someone great you know? Alas, the most important part of his life was taken away simply because he was in a wrong place at the wrong time. Don't you see that you need to thank God for directing your path? God has been leading you and protecting you from all evil. You are not behind bars for a crime you are completely clueless of.

This is what I want you to do. Take a book and write down all the good things that has happened to you and your family this year. You will be amazed at how much God has been good to you. Do you know that God turns our mistakes around for our good? So, I want you to thank God for all the mistakes you have made this year, the lessons you have learnt this year, and even for unanswered prayers!
This is a month of rejoicing! Don't let the negativity of year take away the joy of the day. I celebrate the fact that you are alive! God bless you.
