THE BRAKE

"You really can't be prepared for the future because you don't know what tomorrow brings". As she said those words to me, I silently challenged her, but because I didn't want to start an argument, I had to let her be.

In my career field, which is Public Relations, there is an aspect called Crisis Management.  Crisis Management is proactive, it ensures that the organisation plans ahead of any disruption or crisis situation.  It takes into consideration the fact that life happens and life can go from good to better or from good to worse either ways, Crisis Management plans ahead and puts the organisation in a state ready to prevent or absorb any crisis no matter the circumstance.

True, no one knows tomorrow but you can't say because tomorrow is unpredictable you will remove the shock absorber and brake of a vehicle so that when driving, whatever wants to happen will happen (sacarsm intended). Even with a good driver and every component of a vehicle in good shape, there is still a huge possibility of an accident happening but a prepared life is always better than an unprepared life.

Just expecting life to happen on its own is one of the easiest ways to live a life of mediocrity. Plan and pray! But like the saying goes, 'plan/work as if you have not prayed and pray as if you have not planned/worked'. Be proactive, go on trainings, know yourself deeper, understand your situation, project your desired future and set goals to achieve them. You can limit the number of 'accidents' in your life by being proactive. Great things don't just happen, people make them happen. Do what you can, and let God do what you can't.
